LITTLE WHITE DRESS

Hello my lovelies!

With a hint of spring in the air  -  and I say for a reason, the sunshine lasted just a few hours in typical English behaviour- I thought I'd put on a dress for the first time in, well, a verrrrrry hot minute!..or should I say cold minute? haha

This lil number from PrettyLittleThing.com is a perfect "transition" dress because of the long sleeves so you're not fully exposed but are still cool enough for the warmer days. The pleated skirt is so cute and rather flirty I thought. This is definitely out of my usual dress styles with the frills but I quite like the femininity it brings.

I paired the dress with some wedged boots (from Carvela that I've had for yearrrrs) to keep that "winter" edge, but if it were warmer some sandals or high heels would definitely be in the mix!

I've always thought white outfits are like the perfect canvas for daring accessories or shoes, and although I may not have done it here, I definitely recommend a daring shoe - maybe ones with plenty color or with a print. I'll put some examples below!

How are you guys prepping your wardrobes for the warmer months ahead?

CURRENT SKINCARE FAVOURITES

Hello darlings, spring has sprung and the English weather has finally decided to catch up!
Anyone else go into typical spring cleaning mode, I did with my wardrobe as I do every year and then ended up cleaning out my makeup and beauty products while I was at it and thought this would be the perfect time to talk to you about my favourite skincare products (at the moment).

Everyone's skin is different, I tend to be combination skin but on the dryer side so you'll see a lot of 'hydrating' and 'glowy' or 'radiant' products all in the mix. As far as pricing goes, theres high end to low end products, but I'll stress that you definitely don't have to break the bank to have great skin!

I was never someone that had a proper routine but once I got into one, I noticed an immediate difference and have had consistency in my skin...most the time! Of course the occasional (menstrual mostly) breakout happens but theres a product I use during to get through those times. Another thing I started doing once I had a routine was NOT SLEEPING WITH MAKE UP!! I was sooooo bad at taking off my make up but honestly now I can't sleep unless I do, its been about 2 years since I haven't slept with make up on, even after those heavy nights or when I'm exhausted I just force myself and I am thankful every time! So thats definitely my step of first
advice.

1. CLEANSING

After removing all my make up I'll normally go in with a cleanser, either this Aveeno radiant daily scrub or if I feel like I need something more gentle I'll use this Botanics Hydration burst cleanser  (exclusive to Boots - sorry I ran out and didn't get a photo). The Aveeno is a scrub but its very fine and gentle, but I'll always use this in the evenings rather than mornings, about 3 times a week. The Botanics cleanser I'll use most mornings (some times just washing your face with water is enough as it encourages natural oils) and on the evening I don't scrub. Both are aboutt £5 each, definitely worth it.

The L'oreal Pure Clay Glow Mask is probably the best mask I've ever use for immediate results, I'll use this once a week for a proper cleanse and pampering session before an event. Honestly, read the box because for me it ticks off everything its supposed to do! And it smells so bloody good. They also have different options to suit what results you're after so check them out as they're also super affordable, plus they have a deal on right now - click the link!

Now, on the pricier side is the Glam Glow Supermud. It really is a miracle worker, I use this when my skin isn't playing ball, instead of putting it all over my face I'll just put it on the areas where I've broken out and keep it on for 20 mins. I got this mini put as I didn't want to commit to £40 on the larger pot until I tried it, but honestly as I use it so sparingly I wouldn't need the larger so I recommend starting small.

2. TONER

I always thought toner was for 'older ladies', until my sister introduced me to this Lancome Hydrating toner. Its a comes with a somewhat hefty price tag but honestly my skin has been a lot more even using this stuff and because its alcohol free and hydrating it doesn't have that burning feeling that toners usually have. I also believe you can get the mini version if you want to try it out first before committing.

3. MOISTURISER

After letting the toner settle in for about a minute or so, I go in with this eye treatment - I use it religiously at night and if I wake up and feel particularly dehydrated around the eye area I'll use a little bit too. Its plumps up and prevent fine lines which over all gives a better appearance when you use concealer. Eye creams are generally quite expensive and sometimes not worth the quantity you're paying for, but this KIEHL'S treatment with avocado is a good meet in the middle for product price and quantity as it lasts forever - don't go too crazy though, just a couple dabs.

Next, depending on the time of dayI'll go in with the Botanics Hydrating Night/ Day Cream. Love that the day one has SPF 15 - this is very important especially for warmer seasons.

4. HYDRATING MIST

Annnnd finally, something I use to prep my skin before make up, to set my make up or right before bed for some extra hydration, my ride or die Mario Badescu Rose water spray. This is probably like my third bottle since discovering it. Its versatile and smells deeeelicious. Keep it in your bag during the warmer seasons and spritz it to cool down or to refresh your make up. When I'm particularly dry, I'll end my routine with this beauty. Isn't pretty?!

FAUX SHO

Went out for an amazing ladies night this weekend and decided to do the absolute most. Faux sho.
I’m in love with this jacket, when I saw the Carli Bybel x misguided collection promos I knew I had to have this bad boy! Pink is something I barely owned and these days I feel like everything I’m drawn to is pink! Or grey😝

I’ve been waiting for the right time to whip it out and with the rain finally giving us a break, the timing couldn’t have been more right!

What do you guys think of this fluffy number?

Having a sister who’s a make up artist definitely helps take the pressure off the getting ready process!

THINK PINK

 YO YO YO!!

Though I'd  pop over here and give you a quick lil post about something I've been obsessed with. Literally. I can't stop wearing it. And if you follow me on my social you might even have noticed!

In typical English fashion, the weather can't decide what it wants to be. We're in Spring...apparently but all we've been having are grey rainy days but still I keep up the hope!

This jumper has been a life saver, its cosy, its warm and stylish which doesn't happen too often. I can't stop reaching for it. I'm also drooling over shades of light/dusty pinks these days so that could also be a reason why. Usually I pair it with black jeans and some heeled boots - sorry the pics are from two different occasions and on the first I didn't get the boots in the pic. On more casual days, like the second occasion I was going on a road trip and the weather was as described above so biker boots seemed the most appropriate!
